More Friends (Extended Family) through the Business!

There is such a wonderful group of ladies locally and globally that we interact with on a daily basis. The positive vibe we have has attracted the most wonderful loyal customers. We have raised all kinds of money for noble causes. To date, we have raised $20,880 for all kinds of nonprofits/causes! There seems to be special care that our group (shopping community) has as they generously donate (without prompting) store credit or pay cash for others in the group to receive clothing. In fact, ladies routinely clean out their closets and donate their gently used items to our church’s Neighbor to Neighbor mission. We have taken up donations for families who have lost their homes to fire, we collected leggings for the area’s local area foster kids and taken donations for the homeless students in the area. When I think about the impact we have had in our community at large, my heart is bursting with joy. Giving is such a part of who Kirsten and I are, and we love that our customers are the same. In fact, we have some customers that volunteer to help us at events and with our back office operations. We also have customers that have come the distance to shop in our boutique and get pictures taken (most recently was New Mexico and Oklahoma! We have loved getting to know them all.

More Friends through the “Sistahood of the Travelling Pants”!

We have grown our team*** and have gotten to know retailers from all over. We have great friends who will help us find things (the magical unicorns that our customers are looking for), let us borrow inventory and will have our back if we can’t make it to a meeting. Recent months have been a struggle for many in social media, so I created a special group for our retailer friends to learn from “the” experts (for FREE) on what changes are happening across platforms and the impacts to their business. It is a joy to learn that this training is helping them grow their business. This is a venue of women empowerment that is knocking down barriers between sales brackets and growing their confidences to move forward.

More Friends through the Business Community at Large!

We have been recognized as the local area hustlers! Our friends (mom friends, business owners, and other connections) have created an environment to thrive and grow. We are seen as on the the area’s top women’s boutique and leads for events and activities seem to just come now. In fact, we have given many opportunities to our teammates because we can’t seem to figure out how to co-locate for certain events on the same day!

Maturation of LuLaRoe Processes/Growth of Offerings on Trend!

When we first joined, the back office systems were still being worked so invoicing, payments ordering and shipping were not the best — however, the company has been listening and they have improved in all areas. No longer does it take weeks to get things and when we make a credit card sale, we have instant access to the money!

The styles and prints are amazing and our customers are loving them. For example, the Jill skirt retails for $44 and we find in the September edition of Vogue the same look being offered by a high-end box store for $1400! The fashion industry has cited LuLaRoe as being the trendsetter and leader in the marketplace, and many box stores are shutting their doors!

Timing

The timing for this business is amazing and it seems to make the most money for the effort applied. You can sell clothes without growing a group and do incredible well. Just treat your business like a business! If you don’t know how, spend the time to find a successful leader/sponsor in the business. If you like building teams, it will work too, but you have to role-model success to your teammates so every retailer is expected to sell to reach their goals and make dreams come true.

Reflection

I have embraced fashion as a part of who I am, and it has played a role in my transformation. I have lost and continue to lose weight but it has also empowered me to help more. I like that. I also am working with my daughter in our family-owned business and I see all of the family more frequently than I ever did as an executive. For that I am so thankful and grateful!

I believe that our why has not changed. It has grown. As we are blessed, we want to bless others. I have no regrets and would do it all over again. We have amazing leaders and we have had the chance to meet and converse frequently with the President and CEO of the company. We feel valued and appreciated and the company’s vision and mission aligns nicely with what we believe and do. (Never in my CorporateAmerica career have I felt like that!) Looking forward to many more years.
